Great podcast
Good information on Coronavirus and plethora of other societal and scientific topics. I find my views challenged and learn a lot to the extent I can understand the biology. I don’t agree with their take on the recent protests. We all live in a police state but policing in black neighborhoods is multiples higher which means they do not have the same freedoms. These protests are the repercussions of over policing amalgamated with exploitation of poor and middle class people overlaid with unacknowledged history of slavery and racism in our country. The protests might be disorganized right now but one can only hope that we get some future leaders that can shape this country for the better. I support the protests not the looters but an equivalence should be made to Corporate looting done using congressional bailouts and tax strategies (scams). It just doesn’t show up on our tv screens and is harder to understand. I also have a hard time understanding Brett’s position that somehow the outrage is less if George Floyd died of a heart attack. Police should not be reacting this way for a “fake” $20 bill. The events leading to his death are why we need police reform along with many other reforms (health care, higher minimum wage, lower taxes for middle class, better education for schools, higher pay for teachers, prison reform and the list goes on). While the Trump administrations biggest reform was to cut Corporate taxes (Democrats in cahoots unfortunately). Brett and Heather also might be too biased against the left due to their recent Evergreen experience. They keep using false equivalence for Republicans and Democrats and spend most of their time banging the left. I think Republicans are far more corrupt. Democrats are not far behind and do partake in identity politics but so do the Republicans. Both sides should be criticized. As of right now the Republican Party is far more dangerous to our future. Republican Party denies climate change, is against increases in minimum wage, against healthcare reform. I would also recommend them to stop looking at Twitter or other social media for information on how normal people feel. It is far from an accurate benchmark for the general population. Thanks for doing what you are doing. I really enjoy the podcast.

The most coherent take on where the madness of what reality the Frankfurt School‘s critical theory has constructed. I feel sane for the few minutes Bret lays it down. The world is a better place with guy in it.
