“I share your concern about the white fragility cult, but your Unity 2020 plan seems misguided in suggesting that the solution lies with a coalition of center left and center right. It’s the progressive Bernie left that understands that growing economic inequality is at the heart of our problems. The Biden/Hillary/bipartisan “center” plays identity games to avoid fixing our economic problems, which would threaten the donors. Serious critiques of the DeAngelis book are coming from serious progressives, not from the tokenist “center” left. What we need is good wages and good healthcare and a sustainable environment, not a donor-addled faux centrism.”
