“I am and have been a Flyers fan for my entire life and spent all my years growing up (age 5 to 24) in the great city of Philadelphia. I am a proud graduate of The Prep and SJU and am now living in Nashville because of my job. All this being said, it saddens me that I have listened to this podcast for a full year now and will be unsubscribing due to frustration because of how badly I want to listen to quality Flyers content and I never seem to find it here.
Steph literally cannot say a strong fact or opinion on the Flyers or hockey in general and most of the time makes herself look like an idiot because her only comments consist of cats, cute “baby” hockey players, hockey player comparisons to video game characters, or completely being wrong about something in the hockey world that Charlie or Bill immediately correct. Her post game shows or shows when she is by herself are completely worthless to listen to and I have always immediately deleted them without hesitation. She recently did not know what GAA stood for (don’t you do this job for kind of a living)? Very embarrassing.
Kelly never really says anything during any show accept for agreeing with Charlie or Bill or randomly attempting to make a quiet joke. Her knowledge of hockey is slightly higher than Steph’s, which does not say much at all. She also loves talking about the looks of the hockey players instead of their play and has bad opinions consistently about who the Flyers should look at in free agency.
Bill is pretty much a hype man that has an average knowledge of hockey. One thing I do love is when he talks about his hockey playing years when he was younger and compares those times to NHL player situations currently - like there is even a true comparison (and at first I thought he was joking about this but it happened too often to be a joke). Then I saw a picture of Bill online and him playing hockey makes me laugh a lot now. Thanks, Bill!
Charlie has the most knowledge of hockey and I do truly enjoy listening to him. My brother who still lives in Philly gave me a subscription to the Athletic this year and I really enjoy reading your articles. Thank you for your insight and I will continue looking forward to reading your pieces.
All in all, my major issues are with Steph and Kelly. If Bill and Charlie did this podcast on their own, I would still listen. It pains me to leave because you are literally the only Flyers podcast that gives content every week (the content is just not good). I love BGN radio for the Eagles and hope that you guys listen to that as well to see how a podcast should be run.
