“Found this a few weeks ago and have listened to tons of episodes. I keep asking myself why I feel uncomfortable/frustrated when I listen to it, and I think I know why. It’s the structure. Matt: you intro the guest, have some fun banter, and then they disappear for what feels like a really long time while you give backstory. Think episodes would be really improved if you give the backstory first alone (and for the love of god, timebox yourself) and then introduce the guest. It avoids this constant friction of you wanting to do this whole intro and guests jumping in or sitting quietly, which is awkward because they just spoke for a while with you. Tighten this, the episodes will be better.”
