Too credulous
They seem to take Epstein’s suicide at face value, as if all the sketchy details surrounding his death—guards on 3-hr-long “nap” breaks, no recording of the cell—don’t point to a nefarious plot. Plus, the title assumes that the system is not working exactly as intended. We live in a country where rich white men can get away with anything, while if you’re poor and/or a POC, walking down the street can land you in jail. This is by design, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to listen to Michelle Alexander and Bryan Stevenson.
