“Obviously I just started listening, but so far so great. The Netflix v BB for me anyway, is entertaining for a few reasons:
1- great narration. Good story telling with a good voice is compelling. David Brown is really great at this!
2- I was a DM for a competitor of both back in the early and mid 2000’s. We were a national mid-major player out of Texas, and got to watch the war up close. I remember the first Redbox placed in my region in ‘05- panic set in, then NF went for the kill shot. Hollywood and Movie Gallery were the first to fall.
3- I hated NF when they “divided” the business model between mail & online but have come to appreciate it now. I hated B.B. even more only because we had a better model, but they had volume.
4- it’s fun to watch the “gamesmanship” played out and decisions made that spells success or death for a company- even if its personal!
I HOPE you do a future story on Thomas Edison and Nikolai Tesla! A totally fascinating story.
