Pie charts a new course
When Jonathan Pie was unleashed on the unsuspecting public he caught everyone by surprise. But when the conceit was revealed it lost some of its initial impact. However, once we’d peaked behind the curtain it took on a new life, as did the character. Pie had the knack of vocalising very angrily what many were thinking about the current state of British politics. This slightly toned down, radio friendly version continues with the original conceit with equally biting satire. In fact, in the first episode he takes a good bite at the hand that’s feeding him. Great to hear the Beeb is still capable of broadcasting quality satirical comedy in this age of over sensitive political correctness.

More reviews of Call Jonathan Pie
Delighted to see a wider audience for the always superb Jonathan Pie. Fair play to the Beeb for holding their breath in introspective cleansing & catharsis 👏🏼

It has that ‘je ne sais quoi’ feeling about it but not in a positive way.
