Important topic, terrible execution.
I was initially interested in this podcast because I’m familiar with the area and never knew this place existed, let alone the horrors that went on there. However, the transcript readings seem like “filler” in lieu of actual investigative reporting. Also, the narrator didn’t bother to educate himself about sexual abuse victimization. Referring to the dynamic between a perpetrator and victim as a “sexual relationship” implies way more consent than is the case and can re-traumatize survivors, who already struggle with self-blame. I had to stop listening.

This podcast is incredible. Very professional and respectful of the victims but unflinching and honest. Everyone who shared their story in this podcast is to be applauded. You all are brave warriors and I salute you all. Thank you for speaking out, your truth may well save other kids from abuse.
