Gripping and generally quite sad narrative
I binged this podcast over the last two days and was gripped from start to finish. I thought the presenter/journalist did an excellent job of handling a difficult story sensitively, sharing the individual’s stories and reflecting on the different perspectives. My only concern, was the tension around stigmatising autistic people. As the presenter and experts noted, it’s important to have a balance of stories around autistic people alongside these stereotypical ‘weirdo’/outsider narratives, but I have my doubts that the Guardian/the journalist will create content that has a similar impact which focuses on different autistic experiences. Thereby leaving the media landscape with another autistic outsider story and further stigmatising autistic people.

I found the liberal aspect of episode four excruciating. I understand that a rounded view is required but this man did not deserve a get out. He, and most who do this, know full well what they’re doing.
