Unethical journalism
Amy Brittain’s attempt to link the judge’s past indiscretion to his sentencing is unethical and heinous. You can’t cherry pick sentencings with no info or context. Any person with some sense could tell you that. How the WAPO allowed this story to run is mind boggling and made me cancel my subscription to the post. Also, according to the Judge, it was consensual, and while he regrets doing it, it was legal. This is a he-said she-said non-story that seems aimed at ruining a man’s life who dedicated his entire world to helping the downtrodden. I don’t think we should judge someone on their worst mistake. Shame on you Amy Brittain, and shame on the WAPO. #metooovercorrection

Exceptional reporting, remarkable women, and a maddening reminder of the thousands of sexual abuse survivors living in a shell, in silence, carrying the shame and burden of protecting themselves, their abusers, and the people who failed to protect them. But also a story of hope, healing, and peace.
