“Hey guys, I’m really over enthusiastic about hockey, and I love being able to communicate with you on a regular basis. I really enjoyed the last episode, I know it’s not as fun for you guys to do, especially after watching the Hurricanes stay mediocre, but hopefully the changes Tom Dundon will be implementing are for the better and next year they can finally take the step of being a playoff team. If you do get the chance to read this on air, I want to know what do you think the chances are the Hurricanes could seek out to trade for Nicklas Backström from the Washington Capitals? Alan May popped on Greg Wyshynski’s ESPN on Ice and stated that Backy has taken the last 2 losses to the Pens very hard and would possibly be moved this off-season. He has 2 years left at a 6.8 mil cap hit. He could be the perfect compliment with Jordan Staal as a 1-2 C combo. Backström will be 31 in November, so you probably have both good or semi good years ahead of him. Let me know what you think of the idea. Also, I’d like to know the possibilities they do any of the following: trade Jeff Skinner to Chicago for Alex Debrincat and Nashville’s 1st round pick in 2018. Trade Justin Faulk to Edmonton for RNH, thus acquiring your future 1a center, and lastly, trading Victor Rask+probably a defensive prospect for Josh Ho-Sang. Well, maybe that was second lastly, lastly for sure, acquiring Alex Galchenyuk in some way, probably for a combination of a center and a defenseman. Maybe sell Bergevin on Rask because he’s dumb and would probably bite. Sorry to throw all these crazy ideas out, they’re just things I think would be upgrades on the Canes roster and hopefully Scott Darling just puts up a .910-.915 goaltending. I think he can do it. I hope he does. Thanks for the podcast, I’ll be listening to you guys in the summer too, love the draft stuff. Keep up the great work!”
