Good Hockey Talk but Young & Dumb Hypocrites
I enjoy the Canucks discussion. However, it’s extremely hypocritical for these guys to say they stand with victims of sexual assault, yet bring on a pork rinds sponsor for their show. Pigs are conscious individuals with complex emotions and cognition. The treatment and slaughtering of pigs (any conscious non human animal really) is deplorable. Gas chambers, kill floors, electrocution, and bolt guns all show just how despicable and cruel our actions towards these morally considerable beings are. Pork products illustrate the simple fact that we exercise our power over these creatures simply because we can-we are no different than the worse kind of bully. Outdated legal systems allow us to get away with it. Conveniently ignoring the practice is not a rational excuse. Simply put, pigs are no less deserving of having their bodily integrity respected than sexual assault survivors-both groups have these same interests. I ignore Faber’s constant meat talk because he’s young and maybe doesnt know any better, but dont talk about how justice matters unless you genuinely mean it. Putting y’all on blast because enough is enough-society needs to change and getting paid to endorse cruelty and injustice is where the buck ought to stop.
