Timely, articulate
Phil maps out the problems that many of us have felt or observed in the contemporary art world in a far more articulate way than most of us could. What more, by illustrating theory with real life examples, he makes these criticisms accessible to those who are new to the discussion / listeners from outside the field. The podcasts will be a great jumping point for anyone wishing to ruminate on the status of art/artists in our advanced capitalist society, and - potentially - to imagine alternative future where the arts play a different role in social life.
