Brilliant, high-quality and oh so thirsty.
There are four factors that I consider vital in an audio drama podcast: - Quality of sound scaping. - Quality of voice acting. - An interesting premise. - Representation of marginalized voices. Can you guess what Caravan excels at? If you guessed all four, you’d be correct. This show takes the brilliant production skills of Tau Zaman and Mischa Stanton, adds talent both new and old from the audio drama sphere and places it within a fascinating, macabre (and yet also charming) desert canyon. The icing on the cake is the frank and open way the show approaches sexuality—the main character, Samir, is both inwardly and outwardly thirsty (he’s bisexual), which brings a great deal of levity to a number of situations. I could go on for a while, but let me end with this: if you’re an adult who enjoys brilliantly produced, stunningly well-acted podcasts, Caravan is for you.

I absolutely loved the first two episodes of this show. The protagonist is instantly endearing and the story is very intriguing. The writing, acting, and sound design are all top notch.

What a charming show. Strong writing and performances ground a far-out concept about the "weird west." Mixing elements of traditional westerns with the fantastical is a bold concept but it all balances out beautifully and I'm excited to see where it goes from here. Can't wait for...Read full review »
