This is a live recording of a homily that Fr. Eric gave on Sept. 15, 2024 at St. James in Colgan, Ontario.
Fr. Eric reflects upon Jesus' rebuke of St. Peter at Caesarea Philippi and the corresponding invitation to die to oneself out of love for Christ and the Gospel (Mk 8:27-35) in speaking about the courage to take healthy risks and being loved in the context of a community of authentic love and fellowship.
As a key example, Fr. Eric refers to a live performance of the song "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi in the context of a concert at Glastonbury in 2023. Fr. Eric also cites various examples during the testimony period at the GT retreat that was held during the Labour Day weekend in 2024.
