“The Facebook Oversight Board is merely deception and trickery to fend off government legislation and regulation.
While this decision was limited to whether the ban after Jan 6 incident was justified, the board did say Facebook should create “clear, necessary, and proportionate policies that promote public safety and respect freedom of expression.” Even if Facebook follows this recommendation, enforcement certainly will be unequal.
Maybe Cato should have asked this representative of the board to muse on why Facebook does not equally enforce its ban on the likes of other inciteful individuals like Representatives Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, ex-NFL player Colin Kapernick, or Ayatollah Ali Khamanei.”
