Really wanted to like but couldn’t
I LIVE for a pop culture podcast and a celebrity memoir. I saw this podcast on a few Instagram stories and it was promoted on The Morning Toast so I was extremely excited to put this on for a Friday treat. I started with the Jessica Simpson episodes because I read this at the beginning of quarantine. My main beef with this podcast is that (maybe this comes from not being familiar with either girl before this) the hosts don’t really have an open dialogue with each other - one will say her opinion and the other will cut her off, say she’s wrong and state her opinion over hers which is cringe to listen to. Also, when they were talking about when Jessica Simpson getting molested when she was a child, they were laughing?? There were a few tone deaf and in bad taste moments like that where I just couldn’t see where they were coming from. Another instance was one of the hosts saying she’d been not wearing a mask and coughing everywhere to keep the pandemic going to she could convince her boyfriend to move in with her. Don’t get me wrong - I love a sense of humor but theirs comes off as pretty cringe. Their overall vibe is a little negative, a little bitchy (towards each other and Jessica Simpson lol) and I’m bummed to not add them to my podcast list because I would have loved to.

You girls are hilarious and the self deprecation is beyond relatable and makes me cry laughing. I hope you guys can quit your day jobs soon. If it’s possible can you make the audio louder or start shouting though cuz even at the max volume in my car I can’t hear you which is a crime.

The list for great things in 2020 may be short, but Claire & Ashley definitely make that list. As for the one star reviews, stop being jealous that they’re funnier than you.
