Required listening
So grateful for this podcast. The producers skillfully weave a tapestry of voices, bringing together the insights of Indigenous activists, students, and elders as they speak to the historic and ongoing impacts of colonization in California. For those of us who were raised in the public education system, we received a skewed and impoverished view of state history, one that erased the brutality of the mission period and romanticized what was essentially the enslavement and (attempted) genocide of Native Californias. It’s time to relearn our history. This podcast should be required listening for all Californians!

This podcast truly captures so much of California’s rich history that isn’t taught in schools. Martin Rizzo and Daniel Stonebloom give an in depth amazing tour of sadly unknown history.
