Niche but brilliant
This is excellent. An unapologetically-niche podcast comprising a balanced panel of entertaining, twitter-famous, nephron-loving enthusiasts discussing renal physiology. By structuring discussions around each chapter of a classic renal physiology textbook it keeps the chat focused, without being overly prescriptive or didactic. The discussion has a refreshing clinical focus and despite it’s cryptic-title is digestible and easy to listen to. There are lots of people (I suspect >99.9% of the world population) who will not enjoy this podcast, however, if you are a jobbing or aspiring nephrologist of any grade, and have ever found renal physiology either interesting or traumatizing, then I think you will love this podcast. Senior nephrologists will enjoy a recap of the physiology they already know (or at some point forgot), while trainees will find this a much more palatable way to delve deeper into an area of nephrology that is not essential, but highly useful, for clinical practice.

The podcast is equally about the love of medicine as it is a reflection on the intricate inner workings of the kidneys. Useful for trainees of all levels...Read full review »

Topf’s laugh is infectious and peppered through the podcast to keep the fun going. The concept was a surprise but so glad I listened! Dr. Rose would have been proud!
