My EXACT Cup of Tea
Like Julia, I am a clinical psych grad student and amateur checkmate finder. The blend of chess talk and psychology is basically tailor-made for me. No shade to other, non-expert podcasters out there, but I always cringe a little bit when someone outside of the field of psychology tries to apply its concepts and research findings to other topics like chess, because they do it in a very superficial way (through no fault of their own, I’m sure people react the same way when I try to talk about things they are experts in). But let me tell you. Julia. Knows. Her. Stuff. And JJ has really great insight into chess and chess improvement. Their rapport is super fun to listen to. Love the show!
