Description
Hello and Welcome Back to Chicks & Balls the Podcast: A Sports Podcast by Women, about more than womens sport!  Today it's just Marlee on the mic, as Keely and Georgia had their day jobs to attend to - but nonetheless we’re all super excited to be bringing you today’s HalfTime Huddle interview!  These chats are deeper dive conversations than what we get in our regular eps and they feature some of our favourite athletes and sports insiders. Melissa Wu is a name that’s been staple to the Australian Olympic team for well over a decade. The now 29 year old burst onto our screens in 2008 at just 16 years of age where she became the youngest Australian ever to win an Olympic medal in the sport of diving.  But before that even, at just 13 she’d medalled at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and it was clear to all from the very beginning, she was something special.  In 2021, she competed in her fourth Olympic games in Tokyo and brought home bronze in the individual 10m platform event, proving once more, with such longevity and success in her career so far, that she’s one of our most consistent and resilient Olympians ever. Today we are so stoked to bring this chat with the formidable Melissa Wu to you. She shares all about still growing up while working as a pro athlete, what her day to day life looks like and some really exciting things she’s got coming up in the near future.  . . .
