Mail order prejudice
I have generally found Chinese Whispers to be an interesting and informative podcast. I also find Sixth Tone a great source of interesting long form stories on China. However the latest episode on mail order brides interviewing Monica Liu of Sixth Tone was disappointingly sneering, cynical and superficial in tone and content, presenting Chinese women as grasping and prejudiced and foreign men as prejudiced and useless, punctuated by amused laughter from the interviewer. In depth research is generally better when it goes beyond asking subjects for their superficial experience and actually tries to empathetically engage with them.

Really appreciate this show as it keeps me informed of a very important state that I have virtually no direct contact with. The theme song hits hard. Release it on iTunes
