Description
In this episode, we unravel the story of Emperor Kulottung's son Vikram Chola, who ascended the throne of the mighty Chola Empire and defeated the massive army of the Western Chalukya king Someshwara III on the banks of river Godavari around 1133 AD. His rule is remembered for removing the Govindaraj idol from the Chidambaram temple courtyard and throwing it into the sea. It is said that Sri Ramanuja got that idol out of the sea and established it in Tirupati. Kulottanga II also built the Kamporeshwara Temple at Tirubhuvana near Kumbakonam.
