Today, we are looking at The Father of English Hymns. As I researched this story, I wondered how much it could occur today. The Bible says there is nothing new under the sun, which comes true in this story. If I said there was someone who was canceled and not allowed to attend college because of their political and religious views, even though they were by far one of the smartest people alive at the time… or if I said the church was divided about music and didn’t want any of this younger generational music in the church… or if I said it was a time of extreme political uncertainty… this is all things we could say is happening today.
