With 3 films under his belt, Ryan Coogler gained recognition for crafting heartfelt and awe-inspiring stories that focus on overlooked cultures and characters. Beginning his career with the biopic drama, “Fruitvale Station”, Coogler would go on to make cinema history by reviving the “Rocky” franchise with “Creed” and directing “Black Panther”, which became the first comic-book film to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Picture and the most successful film by a black director.
