Too bad, thought this would be original
I was enjoying the slightly edgy/honest nature of this podcast until I saw the “DEI Death Cult” thing, which seems like an unnecessary and extreme way to describe people who are trying to improve society—just like we are, and just like most city managers are. I doubt the host believes people interested in equity are truly in a death cult. Think about what that means. Don’t fall prey to posting content just for clicks. I long for reasoned and open minded content instead of someone just repeating politicized hot takes. I think the host can do better.

A great podcast if you want the same standard script that other government podcasts seem to follow. Worth the listen.

Whether you agree, disagree or land somewhere in the middle, Joe takes on the topics and asks the questions that many in local government have been afraid to put out there publicly. He’s created a space for our local gov heroes who get it done everyday to learn and grow. Definitely a good listen.

Joe’s podcast shows that we are not alone in this crazy profession. Great look into city management and the struggles that we go through. Highly recommend.
