Professional Development and Challenge
As a small town CM, I am enjoying this podcast. Mr. Turner speaks our language and highlights common concerns and opportunities that city managers face. Public service is a privilege and an honor that comes with risk, scrutiny, and a plurality of ideas - even if they sometimes are not fair, well thought out, or are developed outside of our profession’s code of ethics. I do think he is a little too tough on ICMA. ICMA and the state affiliates have been at the forefront of developing strong, ethical public sector administrators. These members have been my mentors and I wish they would quit retiring so I could continue to learn from them. There is space for all people who want to encourage good governance without rivalry. I find the podcast to be full of relevant professional development tips - and it is good to be challenged. I appreciate this effort and support of our profession. 5/5

The CMU podcast is filled with great content that at the minimum makes you think. Even when the podcast doesn’t grab your attention early, hang on something is coming. Great stories, discussions, and tips. Highly Recommend

Joe took the less traditional route to become a city manager and I appreciate that. His commentary about and his passion for our profession is refreshing. I appreciate his continue support of our colleagues across the country.
