“Joe isn’t a city manager, he is an unhinged individual. Our mayor in Sedgwick KS, pop 1,200 is close to being illiterate. When the decision was made to hire a city manager, a committee was formed to select the new CM Fast talking Joe comes along and convinces our Mayor that because he walked all of the sidewalks in our very small town, that he should be its City Manager. Joe became a City Manager not from being the best candidate selected by the committee, but from fast talking our Mayor
Joe fought with everyone. He would come to work with nasty bad attitudes. Everything with Joe was a fight Joe sent out a 150 notices to homeowners forcing them to comply with how he thought our community should be, even though he didn’t live here. One resident got a letter saying that Joe didn’t like how their woodpile was stacked However, California Joe didn’t send notices to city employees and city building inspector whose premises were probably the most out-of-code property in town. This is called corruption Angry Joe participated in the desecration of two casket flags of combat veterans. Not very smart Joe told our County Commissioners that he held all of the power and they needed to be doing his bidding.
When a company from out-of-state bought the shuttered biodiesel plant in our town they had every intention of running the facility. I know because I talked to the owner of the company. After a meeting with ridiculously aggressive Joe, they pulled out all of the equipment. Thanks to Joe, instead of a biodiesel plant, we now have an industrial park full of empty buildings
Why did Joe leave Sedgwick? I still have the email in which I told crooked California Joe to get out of town or go to prison. He listened because he quickly took another CM position in a nearby community In his new job, like the first few days, aggressive Joe started a fight with Reno County. Unless the County would do what Joe demands, Joe was threatening to shut down a public road so the County could not access their highway maintenance facility Joe has had two City Manager positions, both in very small communities 1,200 population and was widely hated and despised by just about everyone. He was run out-of-town in less than two years on the first position It is generally considered that it takes seven years in a work field to become an expert. Joe only has four years in towns of 1,200 folks that primarily hated him. Joe Turner is NOT a real city manager. Fake Pod Cast with a catchy title”
