Tony Walker also has a YouTube channel of the same name (Classic Ghost Stories), for which he reads many of the stories here - I listen to both. His have come to be my go-to channels. Every single story is carefully selected and he often provides a casual, insightful commentary on the work, not an analysis of pretentious academia, or even the harsh “Goodreads” style reviews, just his interesting reflection. You might even be surprised with an author interview or two (from those who are still amongst the living, of course ;) Walker, himself is also a phenomenal writer in the same genre - and, when we’re lucky he reads one of his own eerily luring nightmares and insinuative disturbances that are poised to be classics of their time. Worth paying attention to.

A great selection of classic English and American chilling shorts, narrated with poise and passion as well as some thoughtful insight about the authors and the context of their stories. Well worth a listen, these are literary gems well told.

Absolutely perfect for lockdown walks...Read full review »
