“Two things I love the most about this podcast:
1. No fluff. The narrator jumps right into the story without stopping for commentary throughout.
2. After the story, the narrator goes into the biography of the author and breaks down the plot in lay man’s terms—just in case you didn’t catch something the first time through (which admittedly has always been a problem for me when reading any kind of classical literature). It’s both genuinely informative and actually adds a lingering spookiness about the tale.
Tony is the ideal narrator; his accent is elegantly addicting, his intonation while reading is engaging and alive, and his voice is soft and soothing and creates the perfect atmosphere for listening to a good ghost story. He’s done an excellent job at creating the perfect atmosphere get cozy and listen intently.
Frankly, I had no idea there were so many classical ghost stories! It’s so refreshing to listen to genuinely haunting tales where the writing has stood the test of time. I’m a big fan of ghost stories podcasts and it’s really nice to have access to genuinely chilling tales by brilliant authors...as opposed to fifty shades of “shadow figure” copy-pasta from reddit.”
