“The hosts discuss some really interesting topics, but I stopped listening partway through the third episode I had downloaded because of the preponderance of religious content - not of the topic matter, but I hadn’t realised (because there is no mention in the description) that the three hosts are teachers at a Christian private school in Texas, and it became quite obvious. I am interested in the ideas and tenets of a ‘classical education’ and the topics that they cover in various episodes, I am not interested in the private religious beliefs of said hosts. I was discomfited by the consistent reference to children’s souls in the first episode I listened to, but set it aside as a philosophical construct that was useful shorthand. That third episode devolved (in my mind) into a discussion of how “deep joy” can only be sustained in the presence of god (or something like that), and I just couldn’t listen any more. I think it would be useful to provide that background as part of the description of the podcast.”
