With over 15 patents and 300+ well known customers, monitoring Wi-Fi from the client perspective is a big deal.
7Signal plants sensors on the network to monitor and gather various Wi-Fi metrics to determine root cause analysis.
This is done through passive or active monitoring on one of their two products, Mobile Eye or Sapphire Eye.
The latter is a hardware sensor.
