It’s tricky when sponsor overtakes content
I have to start by saying I have loved this podcast. I have always thought that I picked up really good tips and solid science but that has seem to be slipping… So your last podcast was the tip of vagueness and left me feeling completely uninspired. It went from a veterinary knowledge podcast to soft marketing for Hills I/d diets and absolutely nothing else other than constant repetition of how cats are hard to treat and food is tricky too. In the start Dr Little mentioned that treatment could only be implemented following proper investigation. At that point the host started talking about food… I would have loved to hear how she does approach her chronic constipated cat patients. At the very end Dr Little also mentioned that modalities like metronidazole which are in common practice are now in question to their benefit and potentially harmful - again now that’s interesting to me. That’s valuable to me as clinician trying hard to be the best vet I can be. If diet had been mentioned alongside that quality of information I would have really appreciated it, instead the host politely said goodbye. I challenge the podcast creators to listen to that 30mins and honestly decide what they truly learnt for that sacrifice of their time.

I have found that bring patient and trying to separate emotion from treatment is key. That is most difficult. But as they say,...Read full review »
