“I enjoy Close Reads because it keeps me reading great books I may not have picked up otherwise, because the people on the show have great insight and actually talk about books from a literary analysis standpoint, and they’re good natured and seem to genuinely enjoy one another and don’t take themselves too seriously. Plus their voices are pleasant! I haven’t yet found another book club-esque podcast I’m willing to subscribe to because they’ve in some way fallen short of Close Reads.”
