Too much English, too little Portuguese
This podcast is perfect for people who have given in to the idea that to learn a foreign language, you need to have it explained to you in your mother tongue. Having learned 3 foreign languages to conversational level, my experience is that this is not necessary, and often counterproductive, as you end up still thinking in English and relying on somebody constantly explaining what is going on, instead of growing your listening skills. For a complete beginner, during the first couple of weeks, a bit of English may be inevitable, but the quicker to switch to a course that is exclusively in Portuguese, the better.

I find this podcast helpful but I feel sometimes the Portuguese pronounciation is often an after thought-I spend time repeating after the presenters only to find I’ve pronounced it in Brazilian rather than my required Portuguese Portuguese

As ever a fun, effective way to learn a language, this time Portuguese! The start of a great new series. Highly recommended!
