“Having looked up the case in the most recent episode, inappropriately called “Love Triangle,” I was surprised to discover that the woman in the case had appealed a number of years ago with good reason. The podcast portrayed a highly abused 18 year old girl who was involved with 2 predatory 30-something men, including the 38 year old victim who was her boss, as a “femme fatale” who inexplicably orchestrated a murder. Her sentence was rightfully reduced due to battered woman syndrome in her relationship with the killer. But also, the victim was NOT a “nice guy” and she was not in charge of anything. Racism and sexism was so apparent in the police and prosecutor. And it would have taken the most minimal of due diligence - a google search - to discover the turn this case had taken before publishing this out-of-date podcast which further slanders the woman.”
