Enjoyable but
Recently discovered this show, and it’s a lot of fun, but the production quality makes it hard to listen to at times. Specifically, when there’s a lot of action and sound effects going on, they often drown out the voice actor. Sound design should enhance the narration, not cover it. Compression and EQ are really your best friends when working on something like this, and hopefully it gets better. Other than that, really entertaining. I especially love stories like However Small, However Hidden that are about just regular people dealing with the grim darkness of the 41st millennium.

40k short story audio dramas!!! Experience the horror from a perspective outside the “Hero-hammer” of Black library. I love it and can’t wait for more.

I’m always weary of “fan fiction” type stories but these podcasts kept me engaged the whole time and put me in the story. I can’t wait for more to be released

I highly recommend listening to Cold Open Stories productions. The production value is excellent. These are audio dramas with well-cast roles. You may not have heard of the authors or voice talent here but they are excellent at their craft. Give it a listen. You will not be disappointed. ...Read full review »
