Excellent podcast - always on my ‘must listen’ list
I was born in 1960 and so, for the first 29 years of my life at least, knew nothing else but a divided Europe, the ‘iron curtain’ and strange European Cup football matches broadcast in fuzzy quality, from places like East Berlin and so on. This is a truly great podcast which covers every aspect of the Cold War; and the way in which it seeped into everyone’s lives - whichever side of the border you come from. I highly recommend this show.

What’s sets this apart from other history podcasts is that you can tell just how truly passionate Ian is about the topic in question. Long may this podcast go on and take us to other places.

Still enjoying these podcasts and the Sabine/East German Childhood episode was fascinating. A very honest account of what must have been an unusual childhood but far more complex than we could imagine. Great interview!
