RAF Greenham Common Podcast
I found the RAF Greenham podcast to be very interesting and quite on point. I was stationed there as a young airman from 1982 to 1986. A short 6 months after the first of 96 Ground Launch Cruise Missiles (GLCM) were deployed. Looking back I didn’t realize the significance of the time or mission. I have many memories of the CND protestors and famous people coming by lending their morale and monetary support to the protesters. We were always told we were making history but discouraged from recording it under the threat of Article 92 punishment. I lived in Reading, Thatcham and Newbury. The host nation was great. Definitely wild times and unbelievable encounters with the demonstrators. Yes, the deployment manual that was spoken about is a very, very important piece of history to hold on to. I will always be proud of my time at RAF Greenham Common.

The podcast has become the soundtrack to my...Read full review »
