“Thank you for the podcast! Ever since completely falling head over heels in love with film, this podcast has been amazing supplemental material into the more industry side of thinking about movies and I can’t thank the podcast enough for it!
My hot take: Game Night is a better executed film than the film it parodies/references: David Fincher’s The Game. Comparisons of the two films have been flying all over the place and for good reason, because Game Night uses Fincher’s structure with The Game and plays with it as much as possible. While The Game approached its concept with an over abundance of self seriousness and too many manipulative twists to even remember, Game Night has fantastic energy and never feels cheap with its twists and turns. While The Game is a fine movie for a still developing David Fincher, Game Night recognizes how completely ridiculous The Game really is, and blasts new energy into it.”
