“While this podcast is late edition to the podcast universe, the podcast itself has a rather impressive pedigree. The host John Podhoretz is a host of G.L.o.P. Culture podcast, and this is the official podcast of Commentary Magazine, of which Podhoretz is editor. This does imbue the production with some credibility.
This is not some NPR muffled toned wannabe, nor some Bill O’Reilly/Sean Hannity shrill right wing chest thumping exercise. Rather, it is a rather measured and approachable discussion. The view point is from the more thoughtful less reactionary side of political thought. I find it a refreshing change from a lot of the political discussions that take place in too much of the media left, right, or anywhere else on the political spectrum.
Some of the production value are unfortunately not always up to snuff, but this is not a deal breaker. The episodes tend to land around 30 minutes in length with what seems to be minimal editing. Quite frankly I wish more political discussion followed the tone and tenor of this podcast, and approached matters less bombastically and more thoughtfully as can be heard here.”
