“I cannot even express in words how thankful I am that I learned who Phyllis Hill is through the ONE Extraordinary Marriage podcast. I was listening to on of their webinar’s and Phyllis’ name, along with a few others, was mentioned so I looked her up on Instagram, which then lead me to the podcast. I listened to the “Stop Feeling That” episode and thought, “This is so good but what in the world are the Connection Codes??”
The first time I heard Dr. Glen and Phyllis go through the Core Emotion Wheel I thought it was strange because I had never heard people share their emotions with others like that before. I grew up in a house where emotions were bad and angry little girls were disrespectful and didn’t get love. They were punished. So I have spent over 40 years stuffing my emotions and never communicating my needs.
I’ve been told a thousand times that I wear my emotions on my sleeve and can’t hide what I’m feeling but I had no clue how to verbalize what was happening inside me. I only knew how to present my “case” in court and try to defend and justify myself and my choices.
My mom always says that we live by what we know is true - not by how we feel. I would feel so frustrated every time I heard that phrase. So finding the Connection Codes and learning the language of safety and connection has been like finding a priceless, hidden treasure that I know is going to set me free from carrying the burden of all the trapped emotions inside my body. The TRUTH indeed does set us free.
The way God coded us to connect through emotion is universal truth for all people everywhere. I am fascinated by the human experience, too, and want to learn so much more!
Thank you, Dr. Glen and Phyllis & Tera and Wes, for sharing the truth of the Connection Codes and how God designed us to process and connect with each other. It’s changed everything for my husband and me and now I’m working on connecting with my 5 grown and almost grown kids. I feel like a 2 year old learning how to talk but I’m determined to become fluent in it!!
I love this podcast and the book and the Foundations course (excited to go through Late Night soon!). I cannot wait to become a certified Connection Codes coach and join you in your global mission to take this truth to every human on the planet. I tell every single person I talk to about it.
