Thoughtful without taking itself too seriously
The Contemplify podcast is my latest obsession; it offers thought-provoking, engaging conversations with people engaged in the lifelong project of leading an "examined life," defined broadly and in many different ways. Host Paul Swanson strikes a beautiful balance in his tone: he is genuinely and sincerely interested in pursuing the Big Questions, while being unpretentious enough to still have a good sense of humor, and recognize that humility is a virtue that is an important part of a quest like this one. I also love that (unlike many interviewers, who just like to hear themselves talk) he actually gives all the interesting people with whom he talks, adequate time to answer his questions. He listens. It makes such a difference, and distinguishes him from SO many other interviewers in the media landscape. Thank you for this wonderful podcast! It makes my day when I see that a new episode is available.

The interviews appear interesting but the sound quality is poor. I want to listen to the Jim Forest interview but you can hardly hear him.

Enjoyed episode 24 with Peter Traben Haas. First time listening. I too practice centering prayer and stumbled across this show. Plan on listening to other episodes on my daily commute to and from work! Glad I came across this podcast!

Paul consistently brings interesting voices into dialogues that I learn from. Really thoughtful and well done. Wish there were more podcasts like this one!
