“Well, congrats to Norman Swan and the ABC health team on creating a really lively and informative daily podcast. My question: a recent paper (Hicks et al MJA 9 Sep 2019) says there are 8.1 ICU beds per 100,000 population in Australia. Some European countries have double that number. So will that be enough, given the projections, and how prepared are we to expand the capacity? And how many ventilators and ECMO machines do we have? Can we get some more? Warm thanks for the podcast. John.”
