Description
Hi, and welcome to Costume Talk! we have some really fun content planned for you this season, but in the mean time, Shel sat down with Hank Staples, and Fred Kasten, two of the originators of Midsummer Mardi Gras. Midsummer Mardi Gras is a walking costume parade held every year at the end of the August, halfway to the beginning of Carnival season. The parade is put on by the Krewe of Oak, who hail from the iconic Maple Leaf Bar, Uptown in New Orleans.
In honor of what would be the Box of Wine parade, we sat down with two of the founders of Box of Wine, Ann Marie Coviello, and Shelly Loughnane, to talk about Carnival, Costuming, and the origins of this wild and wacky parade, wedged between Thoth (allegedly) and Bacchus. Come get your wine on...
