original and unpretentious
Coverville is a programme consisting of original and often obscure cover versions of famous songs sometimes brilliant, and sometimes horrible - but always guaranteed to raise a smile. The presentation is the opposite of the brash and slick style you might expect from US radio - Brian Ibbott is unpretentious, knowledgeable and friendly - a sort of American Ken Bruce? Programmes vary from request shows to themed shows based on particular artists/writers - and I always look forward to the next one.

Not perfect, but the tunes played are thoughtful, funny, and often terrific. Give it a try.

This podcast is the only one I subscribe to AND listen to every episode. Brian's little gimmicks (birthday tributes, covered side of the moon, the April Fools episodes) are really fun. DON'T CHANGE THE THEME MUSIC THOUGH!!!!Read full review »
