Mayo Bulls Ice Hockey head coach PJ Cunningham told Caoimhín Rowland on the Saturday Sport Show about the need for a rink in this county, as there is currently no facility in the Republic of Ireland for winter sports to prosper. With many clubs having to travel outside the country to Belfast to play. As PJ mentions, Mayo has a proud sporting tradition and an ice rink in the county town would help to grow the sport of ice hockey, (which has Irish roots), here in the West of Ireland.
