Janeva Tyree is a modern artist residing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since receiving her BFA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2011, Janeva has developed storyboards, designed graphic logos, curated set designs, published children's illustrations, painted murals, and taught workshops.  ​      Current highlights of her career include developing murals featured in Charleston, Columbia and Florence, South Carolina, developing story storyboards that were used as visual education tools in Harvard University, as well as directing a team of dynamic artists to create and curate art related to social injustice. ​      Janeva loves to create, with a breadth of work ranging from technological driven art to art that is used to change the way that we think and perceive environments. Her mission is to create timeless artwork that documents history, breaks conventional chains, and starts conversations which leads to action.  Muralist, painter, sculptor, designer - I believe that "art's" limit ends at the imagination, and begins with curiosity. Born in Washington, D.C. with a paintbrush in my hand, my mission is to light up and activate spaces through art. I currently reside in Charlotte, N.C. however, the world is my playground when it comes to creation, as a locally sourced and world-traveled artist. With vibration, imagination, passion, and dynamism, I create. I communicate visually, merging realistic elements with imagination: displaying what words cannot say and showcasing sounds that your heart can hear. I transcend into the subconscious to express culturally relevant themes, in order to increase visibility and provoke conversation. ​ My goal is to create art that evokes love, life, and unity.
