Learning leads to PEP
This is a brilliant podcast for anyone struggling with their commercial art career, and it’s also full of Boys 2 Men and Fraggle references, so what more could you want?! Andy has a great conversational and supportive style, as he speaks from his own experiences as an illustrator and commercial artists. He has a keen sense of strategy and business sense that I really appreciate — there’s no feeling of it being too slick or fake — just a real path to follow between pure art making and the business of art — and how to make the two work together. The podcasts have been getting better and better as time has gone on and it feels like they are really hitting a nice stride right now in terms of being very well thought out lectures or lessons — sometimes I even listen to them twice. I feel like I’m getting to go back to school for illustration, and for me the pep comes from all I’m learning and being inspired to try! Creative Pep Talk is definitely helping me to push my illustration career forward in new and hopefully more nimble ways! This podcast will really help you fight the 9-5 day job artist blues!

I relate to so much of what he says about being an illustrator (read: being a round peg when made to work in a square cubicle). Andy makes me feel proud...Read full review »
