MYRTLE BEACH CO-ED, 23, FOUND DEAD UNDER OVERPASS, CAR STILL RUNNING: WHAT HAPPEN TO AMBER ?
Description
While studying abroad in London, Amber Berbiglia meets Jose Tolsar and returns home in love.
After two years of dating, they plan to marry just weeks after her college graduation. One Friday afternoon, Amber leaves her apartment to pay bills and run errands. She stops to refuel at Murphy Gas in North Charleston.
Amber texts on her phone until 2:30 p.m. and is scheduled to start work at 4 p.m., but she never shows up. A co-worker calls to check on her, but the call goes straight to voicemail.
Later that Friday, a 911 call reports an injured person near a car on Old Sanders Road, under the Robert Edge Parkway overpass in North Myrtle Beach. Police respond quickly, finding a woman lying next to her running car with no witnesses in sight. A cell phone, inches from her hand, is actively ringing with missed calls, texts, and emails.
First responders find the woman with severe facial injuries that initially make it appear she had been shot. She had already died by the time help arrived, and no witnesses were present to explain what had happened. Investigators discover the woman’s purse inside the car with cash still intact, ruling out robbery as a motive. The victim is identified as Amber Berbiglia
